mother and daughter

Some people have asked me what kind of camera I use. It's an Olympus E1 which is a lovely machine. A digital SLR. Check out the specs here at their website. For canoe trips and rough stuff I prefer to leave the Olympus at home and take the Canon Powershot G3 which is an amazingly wonderful camera. In my studio I use 3 lights mostly, a 750watt continuous light, and two Speedotron Force 10's, all with Chimera softboxes. For this shot, which needed more intimate lighting, I used just one light. Posted by Hello

one of the posters with our photos. The city of Vaughan is actually planning to build a 4 lane highway through the middle of the park. It's one of the most fragile and endangered urban ecosystems in Ontario.. how shortsighted can politicians be? They only see the dollar signs.  Posted by Hello

Janet Berton, Pierre's powerhouse wife. What an amazing woman. Posted by Hello

Mr. Pierre Berton. Today, at Boyd Conservation Area there was a rally to raise awareness of the impending doom of the park thanks to hapless politicians and clueless people who elect them. Mr. Berton gave a succinct and powerful speech, giving us reason to never the forget the past in order to save our future. Posted by Hello

We're in the middle of a 500 ft deep lake in a canoe and Ricardo says to me... Anne, don't panic, there's a little bug on your back and I'm going to take him off you... I swear this thing was 5 inches long. I have no idea what it was, but we put it back on the rock where he came from.. unharmed. This is his photo on the tip of a canoe paddle.. Posted by Hello

A nice surprise in my email this morning. Sometimes I wonder where my work ends up.. here's my shot of Kaarin, the Finnish political candidate.. Nice site. Now if I could only read Finnish. :-)

"hi Anne,

how are you doing?

the portrait that you took keeps impressing people - and I
decided to make it the very framework for my webpage!"

picked up my recovered data today from ActionFront. It's all there, all of it. Every single photo, I'm so relieved and happy. It's likely going to go down in history as the most expensive lesson I ever learned, but it was one that needed learning. So, to celebrate finding all my old stuff I'm going to post some of my favourites, just because they're there. :-) This one is down at Humber Bay last winter. Red, white and blue. Posted by Hello
