Was down at the police stables today, scouting shots for the calendar for Sick Kids. This is P.C. Bullock and police mount Elvis cooling off in the shower.

P.C. Kris McCarthy in the shower with Ed. The temperature was hovering near 30 degrees celsius today and the humidity was like a hot wet blanket. These horses earned their cool showers today. 

I love a parade, and this weekend was the 25th anniversary of the Pride Parade in Toronto and the first time I've managed to get down there to photograph it.

Yesterday we were thinking of our old friend Valeriy Krey. :-( and his sweet wife Lyudmila and how much we miss them. They're in Manchester England now and TOO far away. We were remembering his energy and his vision and his crazy Ukraine humour. This is a shot we took last summer, on location, while he was showing a model how to run gracefully like a wood nymph. ;-)

Out with the Toronto Police Mounted Unit on Wednesday, shooting for a calendar being put together to raise money for Sick Kids Hospital.

Yesterday's shoot. Can't show the best ones because they're for CD cover etc and Jackie, the art director would throttle me, but just had to post this one headshot of Luis, who is an absolute doll. 

Luis Mario Ochoa, Havana-born composer and vocalist of Toronto latin jazz fusion band Cimmarón. The soon-to-be-released CD has Guido Basso, Pequito and some other amazing musicians playing along with the band. We were playing the CD during the shoot and it was hard to hold the camera still, so much energy and rhythmn in the studio!

Spent the day dawdling around farm country yesterday, just testing out the new lens and looking for shots like this. 

Last week I had the best time shooting Evelyn Walters for a book she's written on the Beaver Hall Group, ten women artists, counterparts of the Group of Seven. It's coming out in the fall, so look out for it! It's called "The Women of Beaver Hall."

Spent a day at an elementary school in Ontario shooting for ETFO. Can't show any faces on my blog but here's some snips. 

Ok, no laughing, my mother was cleaning up the attic and found a pile of old photos and delivered some to me. This is a shot my dad took of me. How long ago? I hate to think. I "really" hate to think!

These pigs are on their way to slaughter. I get the worst feeling in my stomach when one of these trucks drives past. The little faces pressed against the slats of the truck, sniffing the air.. it's really depressing. 

Out shooting yesterday in the Duffin Creek and this little guy hopped onto the white card we were using.
