Royal, stepping up onto the sidewalk outside the theatre. It impresses the hell out of me to watch these horses in action. Their feet are the size of dinner plates and this is obviously such an unnatural environment for them, with all the concrete and streetcar tracks and city noise but they adapt and they do their job and they form such a bond with their partners/officers it really speaks volumes about the training and dedication of everyone at the unit. Two years ago, on patrol, police horse Lancer was hit from behind and killed by a car. His partner, Larry Bullock was thrown from his back and badly injured. It was an awful and sobering reminder of how police officers risk their lives every day.
