If you look down the right side of the page you'll see I updated my links. Top of the list is an ancient links page I created years ago when I obviously had far too much time on my hands. I spent an hour this morning, going through it and combing out the deadlinks, so go ahead and waste some time there. But I'm warning you, you might never come out again. Beware of soda constructor especially. ;-) Posted by Picasa

wow, even the names on the list are entertaining! i'll have to work my way through - i do enjoy surfing by links.

btw, i don't know if you're interested but do you add links by editing the html template? (i'm not sure there's another quicker way). anyway, if you do edit the template, if you insert target="blank" in the code, it opens the link in a new window. e.g.

a href="http://annedehaas.blogspot.com/" target="blank"

(i've left out the <> because the comments editor doesn't accept it here.)

The idea is supposed to ensure surfers don't navigate away completely from your own pages.

happy new year :o)

Hi Ian

Happy New Year to you too!

As for the "blank" code, it's already there. Doesn't it open a new window at your end? It does mine.. strange.

Could you check again?

what a pickle! okay, i'm not sure what i'm talking about - flying by the seat of my pants on this...

I hadn't noticed this before but I only get a second window with target=blank...so if my page is the second window, it navigates away!

I checked the code on Blogger's main page - which gives a separate page for each new link - and they use target=_blank.

I changed some of my links to this and it seems to work...but not for those I didn't change. So maybe that's the answer. :oP
