Researching my foot problem. Can't seem to pin it down precisely. This is the fun part about the internet and Google. You can misdiagnose yourself from morning til night and it doesn't cost you a penny. The red arrows are where the pain is lurking. Also mucho swelling along top of foot. Any armchair doctors out there? Or someone who plays one on TV? Just kidding, of course. Unless you're George Clooney. Been to two doctors already and been told it's tendonitis. But it's been over a month. Feh. I don't do well being an invalid. Don't know how to sit with my foot up on cushions.. get too cranky and bored.

oh dear. if your foot looks like that, no wonder you're in pain!
by coincidence, i've had a inflamed shoulder joint for two weeks (something -itis means an inflamed something, so i'm told). my wife, a nurse, has instructed me to take ibuprofren, ritually and often, for the next two days! i never like taking my medicine...
See? Seek and you shall find... free medical advice, and from a professional's spouse, no less. Ah, I love the internet. I was prescribed ibuprofen and some stronger anti-inflammatory but of course, I'm like you, I hate taking anything. But I think today I will.. in fact, right now. Thanks Ian.
Anne, a few years ago I had a problem with my foot similar to what you describe - it was INCREDIBLY painful, even at just the slightest touch. Went to a slew of doctors and specialists and was finally diagnosed with fibromyalgia.
For what it's worth...
24 hours and 6 ibuprofen later... shoulder joint feels better though not 100% mobile. :o0
