A group of veterinarians spent the day practicing dentistry at the Toronto Police Mounted Unit. I won't lie to you, the sound of the drill was not pleasant. But the horses were nicely sedated and none of them seemed to mind at all.

Yep! Floating looks and sounds like a byzantine form of torture. But without it horses develop very sore mouths, resistance to the bit, and eventualy nutritional problems and severe weight loss.
Great shot, BTW.
